L.A Trip Day 1

Friday, 13 August 2010

The day had come to get on over to L.A for the X-Games, i arrived at the airport to a one and half hour delay due to high wind, finally boarded and got under way and a mere 13 hours later i was getting off at LAX and heading to my humble abode of the JW Marriott in downtown L.A right next door to the staples centre.

First people i run into is Adam Bailey, Kade Mosig and crew so we jump in the car and head over to check out the freestyle qualifying at the coliseum, a lot of top dogs didn't get through from here including Todd Potter and crowd favourite Twitch going out in the elimination round, Maddo, Jacko and Rob Adelberg flew the Aussie flag, but Jacko crashed out hard and would not compete again at this X Games.

We hung out in the pits for a bit checking it all out there is some pretty amazing set ups over there the Metal Mulisha pit is one to be admired it has everything you could ever need in there including catering by Wahoo's

In the Super X Josh Grant raced the perfect race to take the Gold ahead Justin Brayton and last years winner Josh Hansen. The main event of the evening came around and it was none other than the 199 that took gold with Levi Sherwood taking second and showing everyone he is going to be at the top for a long time, Maddo had a big crash on his new trick the Vault over 75 ft and jumped up with a sore wrist, Matt Rebaud also had a big crash in his final run, while Rob Adelberg finished the highest placed Aussies in 5th.

it was then back to the hotel for a clean up and some dinner with Sincs and the boys at Yard house before heading into Hollywood for one of the many parties, day one was done and so was i home to bed
