Luke McNiell wins Unit FMX Open
Tuesday, 1 November 2011
The last round of the Australian Underground FMX championships tour the Unit FMX open took place at Rockhampton over the weekend at the project FMX compound, and it was Jetpilot's own Luke McNeill that came away with the win from Kain Saul after a spectacular performance from his first qualifying round right through to his final run were he pulled out a lazyboy flip, cordova flip and one handed whip flip as well as executing all of his upright tricks to perfection and finishing his run with a mini flip off the lander of one of the 75ft jumps.
Rhys Hillier took the overall championship win with Joel Brown taking an impressive 2nd with Luke McNeill coming in third overall even after missing one round in Mudgee to ride with the Showtime FMX team in Melbourne. Luke also came away with Rookie of the year award, so it was a very successful campaign for the young rider from Sanctuary Point.
Well done mate.
