Jetpilot Signs Josh Cachia
Tuesday, 29 June 2010
Victorian motocross young gun Josh Cachia has continued his run of consistent results in Albury-Wodonga with a strong second place overall result on the weekend, whilst debuting a new personal sponsorship deal with casual clothing brand, Jet Pilot.
Cachia has been the man to beat in the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals Under 19’s class, winning two rounds out of the five rounds run thus far and being ever consistent in every moto he has contended. A strategy he believes is key to winning his first senior national championship.
“I came into this year with the goal of winning the under 19’s championship. I know that being consistent is so important, so I’ve learned to back it off here and there and try and ride smart, rather than pushing too hard and making a big mistake.” Josh Cachia said.
This consistent strategy and newfound maturity in his riding see’s Cachia with a 26 point advantage over his nearest rival Ross Beaton. There is however 250 championship points still up for grabs, so now is no time for the 18 year old to rest on his laurels.
“There’s still a long way to do, so for the next round in Moree I’m going to put my head down and work hard towards winning some races again. I finished second in Albury-Wodonga and it felt like I’d finished outside the top ten; I want to be back up on top.” Cachia said.
His consistency speed to date in 2010 have made Cachia the hottest up and coming property in Australian Motocross. This potential recognised by Australian based clothing brand Jet Pilot, who’s marketing manager Chris Apps enlisted Cachia, making him their newest action sports recruit.
“We are excited to have picked up such a talented young rider in Josh, he is really starting to mature as a rider and has plenty of speed which sees him leading the 2010 Rockstar MX nationals in the U19’s, Josh’s future in the sport looks bright and we are stoked he has joined the Jetpilot team!” Chris Apps said.
The 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals series continues in Moree, NSW on July 18. For more information go to www.mxnationals.com.au.
